Biryani Journey in Doha

One of my best friends was visiting Doha, and I have a chance to invite him to eat together, we headed to Nandos as it is one of my favorite restaurants, and we start talking about travel and food.

My friend was asking me about Biryani and how he likes it so much, for me I never tried Biryani before, we enjoyed the conversation and the food, and he left to Egypt at the next day.

I traveled to Mecca to perform Umra, I was hungry after completing all Umra steps, and I decided to eat from Movenpick hotel's menu and I observed Biryani in their menu so I ordered Mutton (Beef) Biryani, and it was awesome, I wish if I tasted this dish before.

After a month, I came back to Doha, and I decided to find a Biryani shop that equal to what I had in Mecca.

The first try was at Royal Indian restaurant at The Mall; it was good but not as good as I expected.

The second try was ZAOQ restaurant, one of the best Biryani in Town, I ordered Shilman and Chicken taka-kak then on my next visit I ordered Saptrangi Biryani and Hyderabadi mutton. Mango lassi and Pina Colada are very good. The best thing here is you can order spicy or not spicy as you wish.

The third try was Tamarind restaurant, and it is again one of the best Biryani in Town, Gosht Biryani is awesome here, Butter Masala Chicken is very tasty, and Cheese Nan is great also.

The fourth try was Caravan Bukhara restaurant that is not a good place for biryani lovers the rice was not well prepared and looks like it is not fresh. Bad starters as well salty and not tasty.
